The master's study programme NURSING CARE has been designed to build on and expand the scope of knowledge, views, professional values and skills obtained by students at the first cycle. The programme enables students to gain and deepen knowledge of health and similar sciences, which support the development of nursing care as a scientific discipline. The study programme promotes the acquisition of in-depth knowledge for performing original basic or applied research and scientific work, which generates new knowledge and meets the criteria for scientific publication, and for critically assessing scientific findings and implementing them in the clinical setting. The student develops the competencies for managing the most complex work systems, for making strategic decisions, solving problems under new or unusual circumstances, and for critical assessment and reflection. The programme qualifies students for understanding and responsibly responding to wider globalisation processes and to the emergence of multiculturalism in the social environment. Graduates can continue their education in doctoral study programmes.
