Research activity at UNM FHS is organised under the Faculty's Institute of Scientific Research Activity, which was established pursuant to the Rules on Scientific Research Activity at the 18th session of the Senate of the Novo mesto School of Health Sciences, 25 May 2009.
The research group of the UNM Faculty of Health Sciences has been entered in the ARRS register (2906-001).
The leader of the research group is Assistant Professor Nevenka Kregar Velikonja, PhD. There are currently 12 researchers involved in the research group.
The scientific research activity and counselling, as the primary activities of the institute, are based on the following starting points (taken from the UNM FZV Rules on Scientific Research Activity):
- Systematic development and improvement of approaches to scientific research activities;
- Development of the profession in the field of nursing care;
- Ensuring the personal development of higher education teachers and associates to continuously improve their individual scientific research activities;
- Implementing scientific research activities under international, national and market-driven projects for the needs of the economic and non-economic sectors;
- Organising and implementing all kinds of scientific and expert meetings, and functional and permanent education in the field of nursing care;
- Involving students in scientific research activities;
- Guiding the promotion and publication of the results of scientific research activities.
